Two Signs A&M is Going to the Dogs

1. A "flash rave" was held in the MSC by some idiots. What disrespect.

2. Students voted no in a referendum on concealed carry on campus. Is Texas A&M going to end up liberal like every other University?

  1. I can't tell how much you're joking, on either topic. So I'll respond to the link in #1: whatever. Yes, it's the Memorial Student Center, but it's also the student union. Thousands of events purely intended for entertainment value have taken place there. It's not in the Aggie Code of Honor that nobody can have fun.

  2. I'm mostly serious on #1. Sanctioned entertainment events are one thing, but a bunch of hippies having a spontaneous riot right before finals is crossing the line, I think.

  3. 1. I trotted off to read the article prepared to be as annoyed as Craig, but found myself even more irritated by the typical Batt idiocy: "the student body lost site of what the MSC is." WTF? I mean, how hard is it to get literate people to write for the student newspaper? If they're all too busy to come up with the insipid articles, I'm sure someone will at least proofread it. Maybe a liberal arts major who needs to do some community service for a marijuana charge? If they can't find one they should just check the basement of the engineering buildings. That's where all their classes are.

    1. If there are more than ten people in attendance at an A&M event, they can't all be hippies. That would exceed the number of hippies enrolled at the University.

  4. The batt is very poorly written. It used to be bad when I was a student but now it is just atrocious.

  5. I agree that the batt was bad in our day, but I never thought I'd look back on the days of grammatically proof editorials as the Golden Age of their publication.

  6. Of course, I mean "grammatically correct" editorials. Clearly I would fit right in.
